$4.99 Taco Bell “Big Bell Box Meal”: Amazing Food Deal for These Hard Times

Thursday, October 2nd, 2008

With the Senate approving the bailout deal just last night, Americans can rest easy knowing the Wall Street crisis won’t spread to Main Street any more than it has.

Another reason Americans can rest easy: the Taco Bell “Big Bell Box Meal.” Sick of the usual lunch fare, Chris and I scoped out the local Taco Bell today for lunch. We saw this deal and were immediately pumped! Get this:

You get a Volcano Taco, Burrito Supreme, Crunchwrap Supreme, Cinnamon Twists and a large drink for $4.99! Honestly, this is too much food for any regular Joe to eat in one sitting, but it’s such a great deal not to pass up.

Really, one could feed a small family on the “Big Bell Box Meal,” or what I’ve now deemed the “Lady Liberty Ration Box,” and that’s what I propose America does until this economic scare rides out.

With the introduction of the “Lady Liberty Ration Box,” and knowing the bailout deal is inevitably going to be passed by the House Friday, America is on the rebound. Lady Liberty will convert the rebound into a fast break, pass it to Kobe and score two for America with a giant windmill dunk!

If you’re looking for a lot of food on the cheap, which is getting hard these days, check out the box!

Next for Taco Bell: fighting the War on Terror.

Tootsie: Our New Wiener Dog Puppy!

Saturday, October 4th, 2008

Updated with more gallery pics 4:45 PM eastern, October 4.

It’s only been four months of married bliss for my wife and I, but we’ve decided to kick it up a notch! Thursday night we picked up a 14 week-old, red long-haired miniature dachshund. We named her Tootsie, as she’s now our  lil’ “Tootsie Roll Midgee”!

The breeder had NINE dachshunds of her own! We went in her backyard and met them all. It was pretty hilarious! Lots of barf-eating, humping action going down. You’ll see the gang in the first couple shots in the gallery.

Tootsie is sweet, but can get quite feisty at times. She has ‘Frito Paws’ (they smell like warm corn chips) when she sleeps and gets warms, likes to “play bite,” and has to go out pretty soon after she runs around the kitchen/living room. She’s a good little dog for 14 weeks!

Where Have I Been? The Fratellis’ “Costello Music” Rocks! [with Video]

Sunday, October 5th, 2008

As I mentioned in my Lenka review, I’m not the first to catch on to new music. I remember seeing this CD at every retail store mentionable back in 2006:

I should have paid more attention!

While channel surfing last week I caught the generic HD music channel.  The channel name escapes me, but you know the one I’m talking about. It continuously plays high-definition concerts and has artsy, computer generated commercials in between artists. Yeah, that’s the one! Every cable/satellite HD lineup has one these.

Banner Sharing Week One: Emergency Exit

Monday, October 6th, 2008

While surfing comic directories I found a post regarding a banner exchange by Emergency Exit creator NJ Huff. NJ was nice enough to take up my inquiry, and our banners will be on each other’s sites up through October 12.

If you have a webcomic, pop culture, humor, etc. site, and are interested in banner sharing, feel free to shoot me an email! Your banner could be up as early as October 13.

Please check out Emergency Exit by clicking the banner above. Next Monday marks the comic’s 1,000th entry.  NJ offers fans many perks via fan art galleries, exclusive wallpapers, and more.

P.S. - On an unrelated note, cleaning dog poop out of a small kennel at 3 AM is not fun!

If They Turned Into Animals: Part 1

Tuesday, October 7th, 2008

Welcome to the first edition of “If They Turned Into the Animals”

As a kid I loved Disney’s “The Sword in the Stone,” when Merlin the wizard transformed people into animals.

Now it’s my turn to be Merlin:

Greg’s Reasons: Age, skin quality, jaw-line

Greg’s Reasons: Slope of nose, daintiness, smarts

Greg’s Reasons: Muscular chests, long face, flowing hair
